Witherell Announces Appointments to Management Team

The Nathaniel Witherell announced the appointments of two seasoned executives to its management team. Allen Brown, executive director of the Nathaniel Witherell, announced that W. Thomas Ellis of Norwalk, joins as Director of Finance and Craig Dumont, RD, of Wolcott, was named Director of Food Service.

Ellis joins the Witherell with a background in banking and finance, most recently serving as Vice President, Business Controls at Royal Bank of Scotland (NatWest Markets) in Stamford. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Global Credit Products Finance at Banc of America Securities in New York. Mr. Ellis has also held high-level positions at Morgan Stanley in New York, Prime Charter Limited in New York, and Sikorsky Aircraft Division-United Technologies in Stratford.

Ellis will oversee all aspects of financial operations at the 202-bed Nathaniel Witherell Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center and brings vast experience in planning and forecasting, financial statement preparation, and internal reporting to his new role.

“Tom is a highly accomplished finance manager and has been extremely successful in leading people and impacting business for large and complex organizations. We are fortunate to have someone with Tom’s expertise helping us lead the Witherell’s growth and success into the future,” says Brown.

Craig Dumont, RD

Dumont will serve as the organization’s Director of Food service, overseeing dining operations for the Witherell’s skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facilities, the Café Witherell, and the Town of Greenwich Senior Center.

Dumont has a long and proven track record in managing food service operations for the elderly in a range of settings, including: acute care, skilled nursing, rehab, independent living, memory care, assisted living, and senior housing communities. For the last 17 years, he’s risen through the ranks of Compass USA. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Director, overseeing operations for Compass USA, Masonicare & Lockwood Lodge, and Morrison Community Living in Newtown and Wallingford. Prior to that, Mr. Dumont served as a Clinical Dietician for Sodexho Marriott Management in two locations in Connecticut.
