Glenville School Assistant Principal Accepts Wilton Position
Glenville School Assistant Principal Janean Carley announced that she has accepted a position as Assistant Principal for Miller-Driscoll School in Wilton, effective Jan. 19, 2017. Mrs. Carley began teaching for the Greenwich Public Schools in 1996; she has served in an administrative role at Glenville School since 2009. “
It has been an honor to serve the students and families of Glenville School for the past two decades and to work with such dedicated professionals through the years. I appreciate the opportunities afforded to me as both a teacher and administrator during my time with the Greenwich Public Schools, and I will take many fond memories with me as I embark on a new adventure,” noted Mrs. Carley.
“Janean has embodied all of the qualities of an effective leader,” said Glenville School Principal Marc D’Amico. “Over her tenure as Assistant Principal, she strived to redefine the position so that she could showcase her talents as an instructional leader. Janean is to be commended for her pivotal role in developing our school protocol for teacher video self-analysis, as well as our work in developing peer exploration teams. Janean is to be credited for bringing the student voice into IEP meetings by having children create videos showcasing their academic growth and presenting their efforts at full meetings with parents present. Janean has demonstrated how critically important the principal-assistant principal partnership is and that when melded effectively yields transformative results for the learning climate on both the adult and student level. She will be missed greatly for all of her contributions and years of dedicated service to the greater Glenville community.”
An interim Assistant Principal will be identified to fill the position through the end of the current school year. The search for a new Assistant Principal for Glenville School will begin immediately.
