The Friends and Staff of the Cos Cob Library welcome the quilters of Common Threads for their seventh biyearly exhibit from Nov. 2 through Dec. 19. An opening reception will be held in the library’s Community Room on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m.
In the early 1990’s a diverse group of women with a common love of quilts founded Common Threads Quilters. Their goals were to designate time for work on individual projects; share ideas, techniques and enthusiasms; and to promote the art and craft of quilt making in our community. The members live in the greater Greenwich area and meet regularly at the Greenwich Arts Center and in the Cos Cob Library Community Room. In the spring of 2001 Common Threads Quilts was the first major exhibit in the new Cos Cob Library building.
