The Rummage Room, located at 191 Sound Beach Ave., will close Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. to give volunteers vacation time and to refresh and refurbish the store. Until then, join the crowd for Closing Specials: Thursday, Aug. 2: All You Can Jam in a Bag for $12, Friday, Aug. 3: All You Can Stuff in a bag for $8, Saturday, Aug. 4: All You Can Cram in a Bag for $1. The Rummage Room began in 1964 as an annual rummage sale held at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich. This event was so successful it was transformed into a business housed in a vacant storefront at 191 Sound Beach Ave. in Old Greenwich. Today, still operated by the Women’s Fellowship of the church, The Rummage Room is a great place to find a bargain, donate your new or gently used items and/or make a tax-deductible donation.
