Greenwich Academy Water Polo Beats Hopkins 13-9

The Greenwich Academy water polo team had another thrilling game Wednesday at the YMCA of Greenwich. Playing Hopkins School, the Gators built an early 3-2 lead and went on to handle Hopkins 13-9.

Holding the slim one-goal lead at the end of the first quarter, Greenwich Academy was fundamentally solid in the second and scored seven unanswered goals. 

The Gators went into the second half with a score of 10-2, and although Hopkins fought back and brought the game to a four-goal difference, GA held on for the 13-9 victory.

The Greenwich Academy duo of Borden Wahl and Charlotte Hallisey each finished with a team-high four goals. Megan Apostolides added the hat trick, while Avery Pierce netted two goals.

In net, Annie Harris had an outstanding game and finished with 11 saves. In addition, Sydney Heath led the way with three steals, while Paulina Swigart and Camille Daigle each added two steals.

Rica Generoso was the star for Hopkins School, finishing with a game-high six goals. Katharine Larsen, Chloe Glass and Georgia Doolittle each finished with one goal.
