Brunswick School Lacrosse Doubles Up Lawrenceville, 14-7

The Brunswick School lacrosse team doubled-up Lawrenceville School in a non-league contest on Wednesday, besting the Big Red, 14-7.

The win boosts the Bruins record to 6-2 overall.

After traveling roughly 90 miles down the I-95 corridor for the midweek contest, the duo of Alex Buckanavage and Reilly Walsh were poised to light up the scoreboard. They accounted for nine of the Bruins 14 goals, along with three of the team’s five assists.

After Lawrenceville opened the game with a goal, Brunswick rallied with five-straight tallies, as Walsh and Buckanavage each netted two scores apiece.

Leading 5-1 in the second quarter, the pair each added markers, before Walsh set-up Buckanavage for an 8-2 score.

After the teams exchanged goals to cap the half, Bunckanavage made it a 10-3 contest to open the third quarter.

Later in the third, a pair of Big Red goals bookended a Buckanavage score, before Christian Ronda capped the third quarter scoring off an assist by Walsh.

Holding a 12-4 lead, Lawrenceville scored one goal before Griffin Gelinas finished a pass from Walsh for a goal, followed by a tally from John Montinaro.

A final Lawrenceville goal capped the scoring at 14-7 for Brunswick.

Jack Stephenson picked up his sixth win in net for Brunswick, making nine saves, as Patrick Burkishaw made one save in relief of Stephenson.

Brunswick collected 11 more groundballs (23-12), as John Fox nabbed a team-best five. and outshot Lawrenceville 37-20.
