Vincenzina “Virginia” Lombardi of Greenwich passed away peacefully on December 8 at 86 years of age. She was born in Morra DeSanctis, Italy on February 29, 1936 to Rocco and Maria Carmela Capozza. Vincenzina was predeceased by her beloved husband Nicola “Nicholas” Lombardi in 1998 whom she joins on their wedding anniversary, as well as her siblings Gloria and Andrew.
Vincenzina immigrated to America in 1951 where she raised her children Josephine, Nicholas (Leslie), and Rocco. All of whom survive her in addition to her loving sisters Assunta and Francesca. She was a devoted wife and mother who was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Joleigh, Jayson, Nicholas, Matthew, Michael, Daniel; Nicole, Brandy, Melissa, Ricki-Lee and Gracie as well as 10 great-grandchildren in her lifetime who she cherished. Special thanks to her compassionate caregivers Estrella and Lourdes for aiding Vincenzina.
To honor her life, family and friends gathered on Monday, December 12 at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, Greenwich. A prayer service was held at 11am followed by entombment at St Mary’s Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich.
