Frances Franklin, 89, passed away on December 3, 2022 at The Nathaniel Witherell.
“Fran” was born and raised in the south of France, where she attended art school and conservatory, continuing her studies in piano at the Conservatoire de Paris. In the late 1950s, she came to the US and met the love of her life, the Rev. John Shade Franklin. Fran devoted her life to her husband and daughter, Elisabeth, serving as church pianist/organist, as well as everything else expected of a minister’s wife, and much more. She enjoyed playing piano for community theater productions and choral groups, and was a formidable tennis player. She was a fun and loving friend to many.
Fran is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Quigley (Gary) of Cos Cob and several dear cousins in France. Her husband of 33 years died in 1990; her parents in the 1980s. Elisabeth is extremely grateful to the nursing staff at Witherell for their compassionate care of her mother over the last 5 years.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th, at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside CT.
