Hours to Expand at Greenwich Town Hall

By Richard Kaufman

Beginning on Monday, April 5, hours at Greenwich Town Hall will be expanded.

Since Oct. 1, the public has been able to access the building from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  Monday through Friday, with appointments available for those who need to conduct business in the afternoon. On April 5, public access will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“I strongly recommend that people continue to make appointments to minimize the amount of time they need to be in our facilities,” First Selectman Fred Camillo said Friday evening. “Since the pandemic began, many departments have transitioned and grown the number of services available online.”

Camillo is reminding residents that Park Pass applications and renewals are not accepted in-person at Town Hall. Residents can apply online, by email or by mail. For more information, click here.

Membership applications and renewals for the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course are not accepted in person at The Griff. Information about The Griff membership applications can be found here.

Camillo also noted that both Byram Park and Greenwich Point are open to residents. Restrooms at both parks will reopen April 15. Capacity remains limited: 150 vehicles at Byram and 850 at Greenwich Point. Social distancing of six feet must be maintained at all times including the parking lots. Face masks are required whenever close contact is unavoidable.

The target date to open the Byram Park pool is Memorial Day weekend.
