Little Bethel African Episcopal Church.

Little Bethel African Episcopal Church, located at 44 Lake Avenue here in Greenwich, was established in 1882.

The current structure was built in 1921 in the church’s original location by A.A. Meilinggaard, a local contractor.

On June 23, Little Bethel Church will celebrate its 137th Anniversary. Each member of the congregation has been asked to pledge a minimum of $137 (one dollar for each year) as a way to start the process of a much needed restoration.

This building has been designated a landmark historical site in Greenwich and it is important that the building be preserved. Among the major renovations needed are stained glass window restoration and painting.

The church is asking for donations to help with restoring this historical site. Tax deductible donations may be made out to Little Bethel AME Church and sent to 44 Lake Avenue, Greenwich, CT  06830.
