Letter: Lawn Signs Should Stop

lettertotheeditor

To the Editor:

There was a gentlemen who lived in town some years back who helped keep the town free of lawn signs and improved its appearance with white wooden road signs like we had when I was young. I miss Rene Anselmo.

Especially now that the town is littered with signs left over from the recent primaries. I note that many disappeared except those for candidates in the November election. Do we need to tolerate this blight? No!

Fall is a season for any and all signs, especially in an election year. Before next fall let’s have an ordinance banning all signs from town property, especially at intersections. They are a distraction and my guess is more than a few vehicle crashes can be ascribed to that distraction.
