Greenwich Reform Synagogue (GRS) will be holding a series of events to celebrate Purim.
Festivities begin on Friday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m., with a Purim Tot Shabbat for preschoolers. At 6, all are invited to enjoy the Family Shabbat Dinner (please bring a salad, side dish or dessert – the main course will be provided by GRS). Dinner will be followed by a special family service at 7, including the annual Purim Shpiel.
An Adult Ed will take place on Saturday, March 3 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Rabbi Jordie Gerson will share original insights into the Book of Esther, considering the “absence” of God, and learning how the Rabbis wrote God back into the story of Esther, and into the Jewish story as well.
Then, on Sunday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., join GRS for their annual Purim Carnival that will feature food, games, prizes and a bounce castle. Remember to come in costume.
All events take place at Greenwich Reform Synagogue, 92 Orchard St. Please RSVP to the office, at 203-629-0018.
