In response to requests, Greenwich Hospital is able to provide the Hepatitis A vaccine for a fee to anyone who may have been exposed at Bartaco.

People who ate or drank at Bartaco in Port Chester, N.Y. between Aug. 22 and Oct. 23 may have been exposed to Hepatitis A. The recommendation is to receive a preventative vaccine within two weeks of exposure.

Greenwich Hospital has options for people to receive the vaccine if they were exposed after Oct. 12:

  1. Go to the Greenwich Hospital second floor clinic and receive a vaccine Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  2. Visit the new walk-in clinic at 90 South Ridge Street in Rye Brook Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. or Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
  3. In the evenings and over the weekend you can receive it in our Emergency Department.

Vaccines are available for free at the County Center in White Plains — visit the Westchester Department of Health website to learn more.

If a person was potentially exposed prior to Oct. 12, they should contact their primary care physician if they develop signs or symptoms which can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dark urine, jaundice, fever, headache, weight loss or abdominal pain.

The Greenwich Hospital states that if someone believes they need a vaccine, come to the Hospital or contact the Rye Brook office at 914-481-5777 for hours.
