Greenwich Rugby Back on Track With Win Over La Sallette

Competing at the Rugby Athletic Center in Charlotte, N.C., Big Red put up some big points early. Luke Bienstock got the ball rolling with a try. A few minutes later, it was Soh Nakayama who netted a try. his conversion bounced off the post and in for the 12-0 advantage at the end of the first half.

In the second it was all Greenwich.

Nakayama called his own number and netted another try and was good on the conversion for the 19-0 lead. Brooks Lufkin kept the good times rolling with a try and another Nakayama conversion made the score 26-0.

Bienstock quickly made the score 33-0 when he, almost immediately after the Lufkin try, connected on another try.

Although La Sallette picked up a try and conversion, the Cardinals put the finishing touches on the win when Nakayama found the end zone for a try and a 38-7 lead.

So far this national championship, Greenwich is 1-1 and will finish play in the High School Boys Rugby National Championships tomorrow.
