Greenwich native and Western New England University freshman Alex Loparco had a week to remember, culminating in being named Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.
The former GHS baseball standout batted .667 and went 10-for-15, helping the team start the season on a four-game winning streak. Loparco added four extra base hits, including three double and his first collegiate home run.
He also drove in five, scored five runs and stole a fun. In his collegiate debut against Wayneburg, Loparco went a perfect 3-for-3 with a homer and three runs batted in.
