Nellie M. Texiere died on Feb. 2 at the age of 98.
She was born in Oyster Bay, N.Y. on July 3, 1917 to Charles and Elizabeth Mayes. Nellie married Robert W. Texiere, Sr., and they lived in Greenwich for most of their lives.
Nellie was a clerk for the town’s Highway Department for over 20 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and by her sister Alice Sweeney.
She is survived by her sons Gary (Maggie) and Robert (Kathy), her sister Marge Samuels, and her grandchildren Robert III, Kristin, and John. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at the Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich on Feb. 6, and a memorial service followed, also at the funeral home.
