Summer has come to a close, and with it comes the close of a groundbreaking exhibition at the Bruce Museum. Walls of Color: The Murals of Hans Hofmann closed at the Bruce on Saturday, but will continue on a US tour to two additional institutions.

The first ever exhibition to focus on the artist’s varied and under-appreciated public mural projects, Walls of Color: The Murals of Hans Hofmann, curated by Dr. Kenneth Silver, adjunct curator of art at the Bruce and a professor of Modern Art at New York University, debuted at the Bruce Museum on May 2 and will now travel from Greenwich to The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University in Miami, where it will be on view from Oct. 10  to Jan. 3, 2016, and to the Ackland Art Museum, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where it will be shown from Jan. 22 to April 10, 2016.
