Board of Selectmen Holds Public Hearing on Future of Greenwich Avenue

On Tuesday, the Board of Selectmen, along with other town and public safety officials, held a special meeting and public hearing to discuss Greenwich Avenue, parking, outdoor dining, and what the future could look like in the downtown area.

Several residents and business owners spoke during the 90 minute hearing, and the majority said they liked what’s being done on the Avenue. However, a few want some adjustments made.

Abilis, PTAC Receive COVID-19 Community Relief Fund Grants

The Greenwich United Way’s Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund issued a $25,800 grant to the PTA Council (PTAC) – the umbrella organization formed by the 15 PTAs of the Greenwich Public Schools – and a second grant to Abilis in the amount of $15,000. PTAC is using the grant to provide breakfast and lunch for Greenwich students who receive free and reduced lunch during the school year. Abilis’ second grant will cover PPE and staffing support for Greenwich participants. COVID-19 Community Relief Fund Issues Grant to Family Centers

The Greenwich United Way’s Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund issued a $50,000 grant to Family Centers to support the organization’s Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions (ECAGS) program. The funds will help the 125 families that are Early Care and Education (ECE) and Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions Greenwich Parents as Teachers (GPAT) participants. read more...
