Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance Benefits Cool Cars for Kids

Special activities will highlight the one-day fundraising event on July 17 at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum

 

Doug Fehan Added to Corvette Panel Discussion…Virtually:

Doug Fehan, the former General Motors Program Manager of the Global Corvette GT program, who led the Corvette brand to 106 ALMS Series victories, 11 Manufacturers Championships and eight GT Class victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 1996, will appear virtually during the Corvette panel discussion. Currently the Corvette Racing Brand Ambassador, Fehan will join, via a pre-recorded Zoom call, Corvette experts and racers Ed Welburn, Tony DeLorenzo, George Wintersteen and Lowell Paddock from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. on the stage at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. Corvette Panel Autograph Signing:

Immediately following the Corvette panel discussion, if time allows, the panelists will be available to sign autographs. Event posters and programs will be made available for signing.

 

Concours d’Elegance:

The Concours d’ Elegance will feature Corvettes, an icon of American sports cars. Among the Corvettes recognized will be representatives of every generation, from the 1950s to today. There will be race cars, production cars, and special one-of-a-kind models, as well as a variety of European and American sports cars such as Porsche, Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz. The cars will be judged using the ICJAG system (International Chief Judge Advisory Group), an internationally accepted system for the premier Concours events around the world. JK Kelly, Author of Popular Thriller, “Deadly Driver,” to Sign Books:

“Deadly Driver,” a new thriller from author JK Kelly, takes the reader on an intrigue-filled Formula 1 ride around the world as American Formula 1 driver Bryce Winters tries to surpass Mario Andretti’s Formula 1 record while trying to break free from the CIA’s control. The book will be available for purchase from Kelly throughout the day on Saturday, July 17.

 

Coach Dick Vermeil is Special Guest:

Former Philadelphia Eagles Coach Dick Vermeil, a strong supporter of Cool Cars for Kids, and Eagles Mascot SWOOP and Cheerleaders will be on site and available for autograph signings and photo ops.

 

Auction of Hector Cademartori’s Corvette Poster:

Famed artist Hector Cademartori of California has donated a stunning poster he created for a 2013 vintage event in Fontana, Calif., celebrating Corvette’s 60th Anniversary. A silent auction will be held at a table inside the Museum, and the winner of the signed and framed poster will be named during the Concours awards ceremony at 2 p.m. The poster shows the class-winning Corvette at the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans and two vignettes of driver Dick Guldstrand’s Corvettes.
