Brothers Will and James Sands, fresh off a remarkable 11-5-2 fall season with the Brunswick School soccer team, were recently called to Florida to continue their U-15 U.S. National Team training.
Even in the warm and humid conditions, the freshmen duo impressed the coaches, maintaining their positions on the developmental roster.
Upon returning to Brunswick, the brothers waited to hear the selection of the next call-up of 20 players. Both James and Will made the last call-up earlier this year, as the U.S. team traveled to England to play two matches.
For this call-up, James Sands was selected as a midfielder. He is expected to see plenty of action this week as the U.S. U-15 squad plays three games at the 12th annual Nike International Friendlies, held in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
The tournament features two games on each of three match days. Beginning today, the United States faces England, followed by a match versus the Netherlands on Friday. The team wraps-up the competition against Brazil on Sunday, Dec. 6.
All of the U.S. games are scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m. and each contest will be broadcast live on Ussoccer.com.
