
The Convent of the Sacred Heart volleyball team traveled to New Haven and defeated Hopkins 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-23).
“It was a total team effort against a team that dug well and never quit on a ball,” Sacred Heart head coach Beth Wilson-Jordan said.
Marie Njie-Mitchell led the attacks with 13 kills and pitched in with two blocks and three digs. Not to be outdone was Laura Holland, who finished with four kills, one block and one dig. Jenna Whelan added four kills, five digs and one assist.
Natalia Pazos was stellar when it came to assists, finishing with 20. She also added four kills, three aces and four digs. The Tigers also had strong serving from Katie Kablack, who finished with five aces, two kills and one assist. Ellie McKenney rounded out the day with four aces, three kills, five digs and three assists.
With the win, the Tigers moved to 6-2 overall and will take on King School in Sacred Heart’s new athletic facility today at 4:30 p.m.
