The Greenwich Art Society (G.A.S.) announces a solo exhibition by member, Karen Griffin. Her show, “Navigating the Art World” will be held at the G.A.S. Gallery from Sept. 10 through Oct. 8. There will be a public reception on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 299 Greenwich Ave., 2nd floor.
Griffin will be exhibiting a series of paintings of books. “Books are wondrous portals into interactive, living dimensions — other worlds waiting to be explored. Books of all kinds are likewise, old man sages, eager to share their stories and information for the right listener.
As well, with every new painting for me, comes the challenge of navigating through the heady cobwebs to tell an authentic and true narrative that my heart is singing in that moment, through paint. Telling one’s own story, whether through dabs of color, the written word or other formats, is one that is never complete. We are creations in motion. Let it flow,” said Griffin.
All works can be purchased by contacting the Greenwich Art Society at 203-629-1533 between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by emailing admin@greenwichartsociety.org
