At the Adopt-A-Dog Shelter in Armonk, dogs are looking for their forever homes.

“Adoption is incredibly important because it gives someone the opportunity to save multiple lives,” said Kristen Rice, Executive Director at Adopt-A-Dog.

“They are saving the life of the animal that they adopt, and they are saving the life of the animal who will take their place.”

Saturday afternoon, Adopt-A-Dog held their second Shelter Adoption Day of the month.
“We have dogs and cats of all different age ranges that are looking for a family. They are looking for a place that is nice and calm and quiet and for somebody to just love them. That is why I loving having an adoption day. It is a celebration of people doing rescue work. The people doing rescue is not only us as and organization but our adopters that come through,” said Rice
And Rice said giving potential pet owners the opportunity to see the dogs up close is important.

“The human-animal bond is just tremendous. It’s amazing. In all my years here, being able to interact with an animal and have that unconditional love both ways is amazing.”
