On July 13, People’s United Bank and the Greenwich Young Professionals Group (YPG) presented the YPG Summer Mixer at the Summer House Apartments in Stamford.
Approximately 60 guests attended the event, which was conducted in support of Kids in Crisis and featured gifts and raffle items supplied by People’s United Bank.
“People’s United Bank is pleased to partner with YPG to foster community involvement in Greenwich and to support a vital community non-profit organization like Kids in Crisis,” said Stephen Shealy, People’s United Bank Sr. Market Manager, VP, Greenwich Market. “This sponsorship allowed us to do both at the same time so it was a win-win for us.”
“The venue was gorgeous and the Greenwich YPG was very proud of being able to put so many good and talented people in one room to network, learn about a terrific non-profit and communicate with each other,” said Ken Jacobi, President of the Greenwich YPG.
Promoting and nurturing the career development of young professionals in Fairfield County Connecticut, Westchester County, and New York, YPG also works to address the needs of surrounding neighborhoods. “Our group effectively contributes to members’ own professional development through continued outreach into the community, professional ranks, and local businesses,” continued Jacobi. “The mixer, as well as our involvement with Kids in Crisis, fit perfectly with this mission.”
A Charity Navigator four-star organization, Kids in Crisis responded to more than 900 calls on their 24/7 hotline in 2015 and over 80% of those calls were identified as emergencies. With the vast support of the community, Kids in Crisis has served more than 132,000 Fairfield County children and families, providing annual assistance to more than 6,000 children and adults in Darien, Greater Bridgeport, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
