Letter: Thank you for your support

Dear friends and neighbors,

Thank you for the trust and confidence you have placed in me to represent you for another term in the state Senate. Representing my home community is the honor of a lifetime and I will continue to work hard every day to justify that honor. I appreciated my opponent’s phone call conceding the race. I congratulate him on running a tough campaign and thank him for his willingness to serve. I know he has a lot to contribute to the state.

Over my last term and this campaign, I’ve been able to meet thousands of you and hear your concerns, ideas, and hopes for our future. I appreciate those conversations because listening is the best way I can lead.

In our current political climate, much of what we see is defined by division and melodrama, reinforced by a national media that prioritizes conflict. True leadership, however, is about building trust steadily over time. It’s about finding common ground, understanding each other’s points of view, and doing the best we can. I will continue to strive to bring positive leadership to Hartford in this manner and create a better state.

I want to thank all my supporters and volunteers who made our campaign victory possible. I will always be grateful for your friendship. And for every constituent, whether they supported my candidacy or not, I will work hard every day to serve you honorably in the Senate.

Voters sent a clear message that they are hungry for positive leadership. We must reduce our sky-high electric bills, cut taxes, protect local control of zoning and create a brighter future for all of Connecticut. After facing the most expensive state legislative campaign in Connecticut history, I am still standing. That is a testament to our message, vision, and–especially–our supporters.

Now that the election is over, I’m most excited to get back to work for our community. Thank you again for the trust you’ve placed in me. I look forward to all we can accomplish together to protect our district and make our state a better place.

Sincerely,
Ryan Fazio
State Senator
