From the Greenwich Police Department:
“Do not fall victim to Lottery Scams.
Recently some town residents have received letters allegedly from “Highlight Lottery Inc.”
They claim you won an International Lottery and send you a check to cash to cover taxes and fees.
Once you cash the check, which will eventually get returned as non-payable they can get access to your bank account and withdraw your money.
Do not cash these checks or give any personal information to people you do not know.”
