Obituary: Harvey Bozzi, Jr.

Harvey Joseph Bozzi Jr., 84, of Greenwich, CT, passed away peacefully on December 1 after complications associated with diabetes.

Harvey was born on November 20, 1938, to Harvey J. Bozzi Sr. and Beulah E. Bozzi in Detroit Michigan. After graduating Cody High School, he went on to attend the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) where he studied communications and marketing.

After graduation, Harvey landed his first jobs out of college with Junior Achievement and at the Ford Motor Company (alongside his father). In 1965, he met Judy (Juju) Williams, and they wed a year and a day later in 1966, going on to have two daughters, Margaret Elizabeth (M.E.) and Hallie Blythe. He navigated a successful career in advertising over the years, with his final job as a Senior Vice President with Hutchins/Young & Rubicam in Rochester, NY.

Harvey was a genuine force of nature, committed to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He did that and more. His family and friends meant more to him than anything else in the world – he was present, devoted, and full of love. His adoration for his wife Juju was limitless, as was hers for him.

Harvey, also known to some as “Buzz,” was a passionate storyteller, and he had some good ones. Everyone who knew him can attest to this. Family and friends will also remember his unwavering loyalty to the University of Michigan football program. He was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandkids in the hospital during the epic win over Ohio State a couple of weeks ago. Although he was struggling with his health issues, he managed to rally for the game and even flashed a few smiles throughout.

Anyone who knew Harvey knows he was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother a family could ask for. Harvey was predeceased by his mother and father, and his brothers Robert and James. Harvey is survived by his beloved and beautiful bride Judy, his daughter M.E. Kjaernested and her husband Gudmundur Kjaernested of Greenwich CT, his daughter Hallie Bozzi and her husband Steven Romalewski of NYC, his grandchildren Lilja Wells Kjaernested, Gudmundur Thor Kjaernested, Niels Spencer Kjaernested, Nicholas Steven Romalewski, Katherine Marie Romalewski, and his sister Judith Oster and brother-in-law Stuart Oster of Escondido, CA. He is also survived by so many caring friends and neighbors, whose love and friendship he cherished.

There will be a celebration of life at The Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, December 17. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to the Connecticut A.S.P.C.A., the Wounded Warrior Project, or Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS).
