Although polo season officially ended weeks ago, the fields of the Greenwich Polo Club came alive once again on Sunday, October 19, as more than 1,500 attendees gathered for Greenwich Land Trust’s (GLT) 26th Annual Go Wild! Family Field Day.
With clear skies, mild temperatures, and a soft autumn breeze, hundreds of families enjoyed a day packed with fun. From pony rides, a petting zoo, and Soccer with Aldwin to the rock-climbing wall, inflatable corn maze, bungee trampolines, arts and crafts, and live music by Jumpin’ Jams — children of all ages found plenty to explore.
Truck enthusiasts were thrilled by the Jumbo Truck Experience, featuring excavators, loaders, emergency vehicles, and even an electric bus. Sponsor Emerald Tree & Shrub Care delighted guests by offering rides high above the crowd in their cherry picker truck. The iconic Ferris wheel provided panoramic views of Conyers Farm, including GLT’s 62-acre conservation easement below.
Adults joined the fun too, mingling with friends over cornhole and enjoying live music by local favorite Sasco Dead. Beverages from Top Hops and Athletic Brewing Co., paired with food truck fare from tacos to pizza to ice cream, kept everyone well-fed and happy.
Executive Director Will Kies expressed gratitude to all who made the event possible:
“Go Wild! is GLT’s largest annual fundraiser, and it takes a mighty village to make it happen,” Kies said. “Co-Chairs Emmy Bealle, Farrell Crowley, and Annie Murray did a phenomenal job coordinating all the moving pieces. They truly embody the spirit of community support.”
Proceeds from Go Wild! directly support Greenwich Land Trust’s mission to protect the town’s natural resources, historic character, and scenic beauty through open space preservation and environmental education. This year, GLT also partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich to celebrate their reopening — giving Club Kids the chance to experience the magic of Go Wild! firsthand.
