The community meeting on the North Street Bridge plan has been moved to Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
The change was made at the request of First Selectman Fred Camillo in order to allow for more residents to attend or watch the meeting. The meeting will include a presentation from the Greenwich Department of Public Works about the revised plan for the needed bridge replacement and the department will take questions from the public. The meeting will be in person at Town Hall and will also be streamed over Zoom. More information about the project is online here. The bridge was first built in 1909 and was rebuilt in 1950. An inspection in 2022 determined the bridge to be in critical condition and while repairs were done at the time, the replacement is considered a priority.
This is a project of high community interest. The heavily used bridge crosses over West Brothers Brook and runs from North Street’s intersection with Cotswood Road to the one with Macpherson Drive.
