First Selectman Fred Camillo has officially declared Friday, May 17, 2024, as Horizons at Brunswick School Awareness and Giving Day, recognizing the significant impact of Horizons at Brunswick in the community.
Entering its 11th year, Horizons at Brunswick addresses a wide range of needs for under-resourced boys from Greenwich Public Schools in kindergarten through eighth grade. This six-week summer program, held on Brunswick’s campuses, offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes reading, math, and STEAM classes. Additionally, the program provides transportation, two nutritious meals daily, swimming lessons, and enriching field trips. The support extends beyond the summer with six Saturdays throughout the school year, offering ongoing assistance to the boys and their families, resulting in remarkable and measurable progress.
The success of the program is evident – many Horizons boys thrive at Greenwich High School, excelling academically with many enrolling in honors and AP courses.
In recognition of its valuable contributions to the Town of Greenwich, First Selectman Camillo honors Horizons at Brunswick, acknowledging the program’s dedication to fostering educational equity and supporting the development of young boys in the community.
