The Town of Greenwich is monitoring a potential storm for Sunday night and First Selectman Fred Camillo is urging residents to be prepared.
The current forecast is projecting heavy rain and potential flooding coming into the Greenwich area Sunday night into Monday. There is the potential for two to three inches of rain across Greenwich with strong winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour. Along the coast, those gusts could even get as strong as 45 to 55 miles per hour and could potentially cause tree damage and power outages.
Greenwich’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor the potential storm through the weekend and residents should take precautions by monitoring the forecast and preparing for potential flooding and/or power outages.
Greenwich will utilize its Emergency Alerts system if there is a significant weather event or a large-scale emergency. Residents can sign up for this at www.greenwichalerts.org and the Town of Greenwich will provide updates if needed through the course of the weekend.
