Greenwich Audubon holds Hawk Watch Kickoff, Intro to Hawk ID

Greenwich Audubon Center welcomes the community to its Hawk Watch Kickoff and Intro to Hawk ID on Sunday, August 27, 10:00am – 12:00pm. Tickets are $15 per person.

Audubon naturalist Ryan MacLean along with returning Hawk Counter Harry Wales will lead this program where they will teach participants how to identify and count the raptors. Following a slide show introduction attendees will learn of the importance of hawk watches and how to distinguish the different shapes of hawks in flight.

The Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch will be staffed by official hawk counters every day (weather dependent) from August 25th through November 30th 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. All are welcome to come assist in counting efforts.

This In-Person program has a limited capacity and will start with an indoor slide show.

There will be no ticket sales at the door the day of the program. RSVP is required.
