Richard Gee Threshie passed away in his sleep on September 12, 2022 in Manchester, Connecticut.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Loring Threshie, and Betty Archer Threshie of Old Greenwich, Connecticut. His five siblings mourn his death, Caren Threshie Camp of Alexandria, VA, Johnny Threshie of Westport, CT, Betsy Threshie Krobot of Bridgeport, CT, Charles Threshie of Bridgeport, CT and Kate Threshie Jasko of Madison, CT.
He was 66 years old and born in Galax, Virginia in 1955. Richard graduated from Greenwich High School in 1973.
Richard was appropriately named after his grandfather, an MIT engineer graduate who contributed to the development of Cape Cod’s renowned Beetle Cat boat. Richard was a Master Carpenter by trade and would build and rebuild homes from the ground up with learned skills from renowned master carpenters. He could also build and rebuild anything mechanical from cars and trucks to motorcycles and boats; he did it all. An absolutely remarkable man of innate abilities that were constructive in every aspect. He was a do it yourself guy and he could do it all. A man’s man, yet a sweetheart. He loved his big boy toys including motor boats, sail boats, motorcycles, and mountain biking.
He will be remembered by his family and friends on Saturday, September 17 at 10 am in the First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, across from Binney Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. https://alzfdn.org/
