Abilis Launches Baby & Me Playgroup

New parents and their babies have a new opportunity to have fun, learn new things, enjoy music, playtime and make new friends at the new Baby & Me Playgroup held at The Therapy Center at Abilis in Stamford. The rolling eight-week program is held Mondays at 10 a.m. for babies 0-6 months, and at 11 a.m. for babies 7-12 months. Abilis’ Baby & Me Playgroups are run by Liz Fornari, M.S., OTR/L, a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 15 years of experience working with young children. The Baby & Me Infant/Parent Playgroup is focused on supporting bonding, encouraging developmental milestones and creating opportunities for sensory processing, all in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The interactive eight-week program covers a variety of baby related topics, while integrating music, infant massage, mindfulness and play.

The Therapy Center at Abilis provides Birth to Three programs, including early intervention programs to help families address the diverse developmental and health-related needs of infants and toddlers. Abilis pairs children and families with teachers and therapists who deliver an individualized therapy program based on identified goals and objectives. Abilis is also one of 11 Birth to Three service providers in the state of Connecticut to have an autism designation, allowing Abilis to provide diagnostic and intensive services to children with an autism diagnosis.
