Obituary: Enid Watson

Enid Watson

Enid “Joyce” Watson age 92 died on Wednesday, April 20, at the Chelsea of East Brunswick, Assisted Living in East Brunswick, NJ. Joyce/Grandma, as she was called by many, was born on June 25, 1929, in Mandeville Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies to her loving parents. She attended Mandeville Primary School. Some years later she migrated to Canada and later to the United States where she resided in the Bronx, NY. After commuting to Greenwich for several years, she developed a special love for Greenwich where she resided for over 45 years.

Being the caring and selfless person that she was, Joyce had a passion and love for nursing and helping others. She eventually became a practical nurse. Joyce was a giver. Her generosity knew no bounds.

Joyce was blessed with a daughter, Angelita, son-in-law, Meredith, and two grandchildren, Deirdre and Kara Findlay. She loved her family more than her own life. In her own way she would always make sure to let them know how endless her love was for each one, especially her grandchildren. Her constant refrain was how beautiful and smart her grandchildren were. Joyce had a passion for cooking, baking and gardening. She would occasionally surprise her grandchildren with lamb stew or steak and kidney pie.

The family of the Enid Watson would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the many family, friends and well-wishers for their prayers and other expressions of kindness, concern and love shown to them during this most difficult time of their bereavement. Your telephone calls, prayers, acts of kindness, and support, which you have so lovingly displayed, are greatly appreciated.

Funeral was entrusted to, The Brunswick Memorial Home.
