Obituary: Mildred Dorazio

Mildred Dorazio

Mildred Elizabeth Dorazio, 99, was called home to her heavenly father on April 24. Born in Greenwich on March 29, 1923, Millie was the daughter of Frank Putrino and Nancy (Pellichana) Putrino.

Millie was a graduate of Greenwich High School. She spent her working career as a bookkeeper for A&P. She was proud member of the St. Ann’s Society, enjoyed working the St. Roch’s annual feast and collecting money for Alzheimer’s research. Even more importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, whom she trusted with all her heart.

Millie had a passion for family gatherings and for helping others. Many will lovingly remember her as one of the most thoughtful and giving persons they have ever known. Her door was always open to everyone making them feel like family and providing a supportive word in their time of need.

Along with her son, Anthony (Tony), Millie is survived by her granddaughter Carrie (Dorazio) Gross and husband Shane and their two children, Simon and Kira; her grandson David Dorazio and wife Louanna (Gill) Dorazio and their four children, Carmella, Jonathan, Lillianna, and Timothy. Predeceased by her husband Alexander Dorazio, daughter-in-law Cheryl (Rathbun) Dorazio and 11 brothers and sisters.

A viewing will be held at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich on Friday, April 29 from 4–8 pm. A service of Christian burial will be held at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations to be directed to St. Roch’s Church. For more information or to place an online condolence, coxeandgraziano.com
