Brunswick Wins Over Trinity-Pawling 7 to 3

Brunswick             7

The trio of seniors — co-captain Hank Cleaves and alternate captains John Burdett and Max Sauve — all got into the action during ‘Wick’s 7-3 victory against T-P tonight at Hartong Rink after a nice ceremony to honor a combined nine years of varsity experience.
The parents (and host parents) all looked the part as well during the photos.
Cleaves didn’t waste any time and netted the game’s first tally just 12 seconds into the contest on a nice move to the backhand. Sauve assisted on the next two Bruins’ goals to help his team to a three-zip advantage after one.
After T-P scored a PPG on the opening shift of the second, Burdett made a great play a few minutes later to push the puck up ice, with Cleaves ultimately finishing off another to give the home team a 4-1 lead.
Some younger blood (who will remain nameless this evening) completed the scoring during a penalty-marred third period.
Elite 8 hopes are still alive, although the Bruins will need some help and will have to top Deerfield on the road in what we believe will be the first meeting between the two schools on the ice on Saturday at noon in Mass.
More to come then.
