Maria Perrone, of Cos Cob, passed away March 31, 2021, at age 75. She was born April 29, 1945 in Acri, Cosenza, Italy to Angelo and Estella Greco. A devoted homemaker, Maria loved to cook and bake for her family. In 1966 she set sights on America to join her beloved husband, Angelo, and begin their new life. He predeceased her.
Maria was a devoted caregiver to many children and operated a daycare out of her home for many years. She later provided childcare at a local gym, The Fitness Edge. Maria is the cherished mother of Angelo J. Perrone, Jr. (Paul), Stella Perrone and Maria Nostro (Anthony) and the late, Erminia Perrone. She is the loving grandmother of Estella Maria, Anthony Jr., Christopher John, and Nicholas Angelo, Devon-Ann and Logan Fenner. Maria is the sister of Michele Greco (Lena), Elio Greco (Eileen), Franco Pasterello (Teresa), Antonietta Greco (Mike) and Assunta Greco (Gianfranco) and sister-in-law of Antonietta Gangi (Salvatore, deceased). She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
To honor Maria’s life, family and friends gathered on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 134 Hamilton Ave. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at 10am at St. Catherine of Sienna followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
