The National Weather Service Cautions That Storms May Produce Hail

From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, southern Connecticut may see strong-to-severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

As is always the case with thunderstorms, some folks may see storms and some may see only sunny skies.

The National Weather Service said a cold front will bring “isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into evening. Some storms could be strong to severe, and while large hail cannot be ruled out, damaging wind gusts will be the more likely threat.”

And not to look too much beyond Tuesday but Thursday could feature more widespread severe weather.

Concerning Tuesday’s storm chances, the weather service said ,”A prefrontal trough will move through prior to this, in the early to mid- afternoon hours, with the best timing for any showers and thunderstorms from 2 pm to 8 pm.”
