Vegetable Garden Helps Feed Community

Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) staff took advantage of the great weather in mid-May to move many of the warm season crops from the greenhouse to join the garlic, onions, and various greens already growing in the vegetable garden.

A variety of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and okra were transplanted last month with cucumber and squash seedlings going in next.

Staff prioritized getting quick growing vegetables, including kale and lettuce, into the garden to support the increased demand at Neighbor to Neighbor has been facing due to the pandemic.
