Preserving Our Sense of Place

Local stores, media outlets, restaurants, theaters, museums and other entities are all elements of what makes a location into a community. Those who operate these establishments are family, friends and neighbors and our interactions with these people will always be far more meaningful than the clicks on your mouse. If we truly care about this, then we have a shared responsibility to ensure their continued success!

Greenwich Alliance Increases Access to Music Participation

The Greenwich Alliance's Tuning In To Music program funds free instrumental music lessons for students in the Greenwich Public Schools to increase their access to the vast music curriculum offered in middle schools and at Greenwich High School. Music education develops discipline, fine motor skills and self esteem and allows for children to express themselves. Music is also about multi-culturalism and allowing many points of view to come to the table.

The World’s Greatest Playground

The importance of outside play in cold weather is invaluable for young children. Children's critical thinking skills, learning how to problem solve, balance, independence among many other skills are all at work exploring the different characteristics that winter has to offer. We should allow children many opportunities to engage in the exploration of this season.
