The Loyola Maryland men’s lacrosse team has quite the week in the Patriot League and Greenwich native Bailey Savio, a sophomore, was one of the reasons why.
Savio earned Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Week honors, while teammate Pat Spencer was named Offensive Player of the Week. Chase Scanlan also pitched in for Loyola and was named Rookie of the Week.
Savio won a career-high 73.9% draws as the Greyhounds earned a 12-7 victory over Bucknell. Four of his faceoff wins led directly to Loyola goals that came with 15 seconds of the previous goal being scored. Savio finished the game against Bucknell 17-of-23 and also took home 10 groundballs.
