Carve out an afternoon to help out Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) staff with mulching, labeling, and cleanup around their hybrid American chestnut trees, Thursday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m.

In 1910, there were approximately 130 million American chestnut trees in Connecticut forests, until they were struck by a devastating blight. Learn about the triumphant return of the American chestnut to Greenwich’s forests and GLT’s role in that effort.

The program is free, and takes place at GLT American Chestnut Sanctuary, 18 Burning Tree Rd.
