Letter: Frantz Voted for Gun Safety

lettertotheeditor

To the Editor,

Thank you, Scott Frantz!

As a mother, with children, I want to thank our State Senator Scott Frantz for voting for some of the most stringent guns laws in our country.

In this political environment it is important to look through the political rhetoric to see who actually has a track record on voting to protect our children and others from gun violence. The reality is that Scott Frantz is on the record voting for strict gun control.

In 2013 he voted for Connecticut’s An Act Concerning Gun Violence Protection and Children’s Safety and was on the bipartisan task force that actually crafted a bill containing common sense measures that could pass into law. More recently he was a leader in ensuring the ban on bump stocks would be made into law by stopping an amendment that would have caused the bill to die on the floor.

These laws protect us, our children and our schools. Were it not for Scott Frantz and his experienced leadership, they may not have passed.

We all know this is a heated political environment. However, it is important to look at how our elected officials actually voted. Thank you Scott for your support of gun control.
