In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ classic animated film, Yellow Submarine, C. Parker Gallery will be hosting the legendary animator and director, Ron Campbell, in a rare special appearance on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 10 from 12 to 4 p.m.

Campbell is globally recognized as one of the original animators and director of the 1960’s Saturday Morning Beatles Cartoon series and as an animator on Yellow Submarine. As movie theatres globally re-release the Yellow Submarine film this summer, Campbell will kick off these new showings by highlighting his Beatles cartoon paintings. He will also feature other original artwork based on his 50-year career in cartoons including Scooby Doo, Winnie the Pooh, Rugrats, Smurfs, Flintstones, Jetsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. This event is part of an ongoing series by C. Parker Gallery that focuses on the intimate connection between the music and art worlds, as well as providing family events that connects individuals of all ages to art. Campbell will be greeting fans at the gallery all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The exhibit is free and all works are available for purchase.

Yellow Submarine has become a permanent fixture in pop culture, defining the psychedelic 60s for generations to come. In his book, Up Periscope, Yellow Submarine Producer Al Brodax credits Ron Campbell for saving the movie and tying it all together at the last minute. Campbell’s former studio was awarded a Peabody and an Emmy for his work in children’s television. Since retiring, he has been painting subjects based on the animated cartoons he helped bring to the screen. He shows his pop art in galleries worldwide.

The gallery is located at 409 Greenwich Ave. To learn more, call 203-661-0205 or visit cparkergallery.com
