ASOG Presents Awards in Spring Art Show

The Art Society of Old Greenwich presented awards to ASOG member artists in the Spring Art Show at the Garden Education Center. Artist and judge Hazel Jarvis selected award winners in watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media and photography and sculpture at the artists’ reception on March 18.

ASOG winners were: Jeanette Briggs, third place for photography; Carolyn Lyngholm, third place for acrylic; Richard Tedeschi, second place for photography; Barbara Stretton, second place for oil; Melissa Rozmus, first place for mixed media; Lucie Anderes, third place for oil; Carol Nipomnich Dixon, second place for mixed media; Elaine Conner, first place for watercolor; Sandra Walker, first place for photography; Ann Abenavoli, third place for watercolor; Frank E. Smurlo, Jr., second place for acrylic; Susan McHale, first place for sculpture; Kaz Oda, first place for oil painting; Christie Coon, second place for watercolor; Maria Friscia, first place for acrylic and Vivien Joy Ponniah, third place for mixed media.

Barbara Stretton, outgoing ASOG President, was honored during the reception for her years of dedication and service. Stretton, who became Co-President in 2011, guided the ASOG with her insight and wisdom. Prior to that she was an ASOG member and volunteer for many years.
