Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) announces the launch of “Seed-to-Seed”– a native plant initiative dedicated to restoring native plants to the local landscape through community outreach, plant propagation, and habitat restoration. Seed-to-Seed puts Greenwich Land Trust’s greenhouse, gardens, staff expertise, and partnerships to work, focusing on increasing the production of vital native plant species while fostering more connections in the community.

The goals of Seed-to-Seed are achieved via three approaches:
Propagation: Create a hub of native plant production at GLT
Education: Establish GLT as a native plant resource for the community
Conservation: Restore and steward thriving habitats on open space

Join the GLT this winter and spring as they begin to grow native plants from seeds harvested from their preserves for 2018 ecological restoration projects. Learning and volunteer opportunities will be held every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meet Greenwich Land Trust staff at the greenhouse to grow plants and learn about their role in the ecosystem.
