Cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and community members will unite in seven different communities for their local Relay For Life event in an effort to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. Relay For Life of Greenwich will take place Saturday, June 10 from 5 p.m. to Sunday, June 11 at 6 a.m., at Brunswick School, 1252 King St.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease today, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations. During Relay For Life events, members of each team take turns walking or running around the track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
The schedule for the June 10 event is as follows:
- Survivor Reception – 4:30 p.m.
- Opening Ceremony – 6 p.m.
- Survivor Lap – 6:30 p.m.
- Luminaria Ceremony – 9 p.m.
