Due to the expected inclement weather, the opening of North Mianus School’s PTA Pow Wow fundraising festival has been postponed. The 71st annual carnival was originally scheduled to open up today, Friday, May 5 at 6 p.m. However, forecasts for heavy rain and fog have caused the launch to be delayed a day. Instead the Pow Wow will be held on Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.
All plans for the Pow Wow are still proceeding for the weekend. The event features rides, games, musical entertainment, raffles and food. Its popular favorites like the Cliff Hanger, Scrambler and the Zero Gravity are expected to be back as part of the weekend festival. A weekend that has become a beloved community tradition.
Proceeds from the carnival go to curriculum enrichment programs at the school.
