This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Greenwich Arts Council’s (GAC) “Art to the Avenue.” More than 100 retailers in downtown Greenwich are participating this year, along with more than 120 artists. The excitement has already begun as retailers and artists came together to “choose each other” for their locations. Participating retailers have the opportunity to view, and select the artwork that will be displayed at their store. They meet the artist of their choice, and work out the display that will be at their site for the month of May.

Opening Night is Thursday, May 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and many businesses on Greenwich Avenue will be hosting a special reception for the artists and the public. In addition, attendees will be entertained by more than 15 bands, musical groups and other performers all along the Avenue.

Art to the Avenue runs from May 4 through May 29, and all the artwork is for sale, with a portion benefiting the arts education programs of the GAC as well as the artists. Purchases can be made by calling 203-862-6750.
